I am not sure if you are growing an annual or a perennial rudbeckia. (There are many different types.)

To assure a similar plant and increase your stock, you would divide your rudbeckia -- if it is a perennial type.

I should mention that seed will work well for species and for some seed strains, but will not work as well for hybrids. Your seedling grown plants may or may not be similar to the parent plant, depending.
