» Cottage_Garden - Rudbeckia seeds
In response to Rudebecia seeds posted by depalm:Typically, gardeners wait until spring to plant their seeds. You could start them early indoors for a head start, or plant them in the garden.
Indoors, they will sometimes germinate without pretreatment, but it usually works better to provide a period of cold stratification -- say about a month. (How to cold stratify seeds.) This simulates winter and primes them to grow.
Outdoors, planting very early while there is still frost and the ground is still cold can work well, too. If you plant later, you would want to chill them first.
