I received this question by email: Can you tell me if deer like to eat this plant? I am not finding any information regarding this issue. I have tons of deer and so far the leave my gardens alone. I do want to purchase the weigela, My Monet, but am afraid the deer will eat them.

Deer in different areas will have learned to eat different plants. In a quick search I found weigela considered to be "seldom severely damaged" in a listing compiled by Rutgers Extension in northern New Jersey. However, your mileage may vary depending on your location and the severity of the deer browse pressure.
