In response to Poll or Survey Results posted by Cottage_Garden:
I took a look at the Why Do You Garden Poll results this morning and voila, they are a little closer to what I was originally expecting.

Over half of the respondents garden for fun,hobby,passion,compulsion or addiction. It's always nice to know I am not alone. Whew! Thank you for answering that one!

Over a fifth of the answers (21%) picked sanctuary, refuge, escape. Oh yeah. Unlike kids, plants don't talk back! In fact, plants don't talk at all. It's quiet out there. And of course, the garden is a nice relaxing place to be, doesn't get any simpler than that.

Then about 14% answered you garden based on it being healthy, exercise, fresh air kind of a thing. I can definitely understand that, gardening is the ONLY form of exercise that doesn't seem like a punishment exercise to me except maybe for playing tennis.

For those 11% of you who just say nooooo, hate to garden and/or look at it as a must-do kinda chore thing, I have a little adice for you: Go condo! Or maybe try apartment living -- it's all taken care of for you.

To everyone who answered, thank you for participating in this informal survey. It's so much fun to watch the results come in.
