Are the flowers the same size on both of the red ones? The one on the left looks overall smaller?

In response to Amaryllis grown in alcohol are shorter and sturdier! posted by Cottage_Garden:The red lion blooms, in the experiment, were in deed proportionally smaller on alcohol. But another I grew at home on 7:1 vodka:water from day one and then switched to 100% just before it bloomed is as big as they should be and has SIX trumpets on it, not just the usual four or five. You can see it, second photo down, on this page of my blog. It looks like a bonsai amaryllis, except for the flowers! Harry Brindley
