Ah yes. Thank you for bringing this up!

Years ago I wrote a lengthy piece about growing bonsai and ended up with bonsai potatoes. It really is "doable" and lots of fun.

Sadly, the link to the photo of my potato (and our little kitty-- yes she is still with us although the potato is no more) seems not to work.

But yes, I would encourage anyone who is interested to give it a try. The secret seems to be selecting a "good" potato and also having the right type of growing place for it. Not too damp, not too dry.... Great project.
