» Cottage_Garden - Lacecap Hydrangea vs Mophead
In response to Lacecap Hydrangea or Not blooming posted by Joni188:It doesn't have to have white streaks (variegation) to be a lacecap, that lacecap term just refers to the flower form. It could have plain green leaves, too. There are many different varieties of lacecap hydrangea. I happend to pick that photo because it showed the bloom *shape* so nicely.
The ones with ball shaped flowers are mopheads. These can have green, gold or variegated foliage as well.
Don't blame me - I didn't make this up!!
