How to Start and How Not to Start Seeds At Home Using Simple Tools and No Special Equipment

See the wind tossed seedlings brought back to life in living color. And find out what I SHOULD have done to raise good quality seedlings.

Well, in the intervening hours since I blogged about my seed starting disaster last night, (Seedling Problems at Home!) the little abused seedlings perked up a bit overnight and don't look as bad as they did when I rescued them from the wind storm debacle, although they would look a lot better if my house offered slightly warmer air and a lot more bright light. (Basils don't like cold, now that I think about it, but that's what kind of seed I had at the time when I thought starting some seeds would be a smart thing to do. I personally wouldn't mind an updated heating system, speaking for myself now, either.) There is a photo of them (you can sort of see there is a gap in the middle where I couldn't find the rest of them outside) along with the kind of do it right seed starting directions I SHOULD have followed in my latest how-to article on Seed Starting. Do as I say, not as I do. Good thing the photo is so miniscule, it's hard to tell WHAT is going on in that seed pan. LOL
