Use simple materials (an autumn maple leaf, thread) to craft a lovely rose bud or flower. Make this as a unique gift or keepsake from the garden. Fun!

I just came across this amazing set of of photos and instructions for making roses out of maple leaves. Even if you are not a crafter, it is worth a look -- the photos are exquisite and the roses are, too.

If you are a crafter, your finger tips will be itching to get a hold of some leaves and give this (deceptively) simple project a twirl.

I think nimble fingered children could do this one -- if say you need an inexpensive craft project for a scout troop or youth group.

If you treasure hand made gifts or enjoy giving gifts from the garden, definitely consider making a few of these. Be sure to make a few extras to keep for yourself!
