Do wild animals like rodents eat, dig up or move your fall planted bulbs and ruin the spring display? Have you tried these simple steps to stop the wildlife damage?

Every fall unsupecting gardeners plant what must total millions of bulbs. Every fall, hungry critters eat lots of them. It's frustrating, annoying, irritating, infuriating, expensive, wasteful and whatever else you want to call it. What's a gardener to do? Over the years I checked out a bunch of ways to prevent wild animals from damaging, eating, digging up or otherwise wreaking havoc with my new bulbs. I list them here, including my overall best way to prevent critter damage to newly planted bulbs. Can you guess what it is? (No, it doesn't include the word trap or even involve pointy sticks.) Check out my Ten Ways to Stop the Carnage aka Bulb Damage.

If you have more ways to stop animals damaging your bulbs that really work, my readers and I would love to hear your techniques. Let us know!
