All kinds of blue flowers for the garden: plant all blue flowering plants and accessories in blue for an overall blue theme or plant a few blue accents. We all love blue!

If your favorite flower color is blue, you may want to plant an all blue theme garden using only blue flowers or mostly blue flowers. Although true blue is a relatively rare color among flowers, it can be done. It is easier to design a blue flower garden if you are willing to cheat a little and plant a few flowers with a bit of a purple tinge or purply blue look. The following articles should help you find blue flowers you can grow and enjoy in almost any garden situation from spring through fall.

  • With careful selection and planning, and a well thought out design, it is possible to enjoy a great profusion of blue flowers in your garden from spring through fall. Accomplish the all blue theme not just by growing annual and perennial flowers with blue blooms but by also cultivating the tiniest early flower bulbs right through to ground covers, tall blue flowered shrubs and even blue flowering vines overhead.I have tried to divide my suggested list of favorite blue flowers into general descriptive categories such as bulbs or perennials or annuals or vines, but a certain amount of overlap is unavoidable. Peruse the above articles at your leisure and have a pencil or electronic note pad handy because you will be sure to want to add at least some of these excellent blue flowered plants to your garden - even if your favorite color isn't blue! But truly, don't we all love blue flowers? I know I do.
